I had this product for several months (got it in July 09) and I am happy with its performance. I have a 1/3 acre lot and if I don't let the grass grow too tall I can do the entire lot with one charge; it's a different story if the grass is neglected for a while and allowed to grow too much. Only trouble I had was the transmission belt that popped out once: it took me 15 minutes to put it back in place, but after that it hasn't happened again. Overall, a very good product if you like electric power and plan ahead.

I have owned this mower since late April 2009. It has never let me down. It makes my life much easier. No more hassles with endless pulling to start the engine, and wondering when I might have a heart attack one day. Just push a button and the engine starts, so easy. Low noise, no exhaust fume. Self-propell works great. Battery lasts long enough for a 50-minute run. I bought two batteries to alternate, so I never have problem finishing my lawn. Comparing with gasoline-powered mowers, its limitation only shows when you try to cut long and wet grass. But that can be avoided with more careful time management. I am willing to put up with such minor limitation, with the trade-off of so much advantages. I am so glad to have this alternative to say goodbye to my gasoline mower. No more hefty annual maintenance fees paid to the local mower shop.

Decided to give it a try instead of a regular gas mower. Love the low noise level and the self-propelling feature. The mower is heavy, especially compared to corded mowers - definitely get the self-propelled version. It runs for about 50 mins with one charge - good enough for my 5600 sqft lawn.If not, then either put it back on the charger and finish the job next day, or buy a spare battery set.

Ordered this late August 2009 after my 20 year old gas Airens finally quit. Was worried about battery life but I guess I've been lucky. The charge lasts at least an hour which is plenty to cut my average suburban Chicago lawn. About 1/3 acre. I even go over it twice; which I also had to do with the gas mower to get a clean cut.

Only problem was the battery clips. At first one of the batteries kept coming loose while mowing. Called customer service and they sent new clips (very friendly and helpful). Then noticed that the actual problem was the small clip 'tighteners' had fallen off and were missing. They are small black 'c' clips that provide tension to hold the battery posts snugly. Put them on and all is good. Have only used as a mulcher and it does fine. No more spilling gas and leaking oil. Nice and quiet; would cut lawn on a Sunday now... Highly recommended.

After almost a full season of using the mower, found that it works well except in warm weather or when cutting more grass than usual. Our house is on a lot slightly less than 1/4 acre and the mower has never run out of battery power. However, on days above 75 degrees or when cutting slightly wet grass it will suddenly die. Sometimes it will take me over 3 hours to cut the grass because it will stop 3 or 4 times and I have to wait at least 30 minutes to get any additional cutting time.

Other than that, love the quiet of the mower. The cat isn't even afraid of being near it while it is cutting. Wish it was more maneuverable, though.

*** Their customer support determined that the battery charges won't last for the 70' X 125' lot (with a large house). Will need a second set of batteries.
